Two senior faculty members of the Computing Technologies Department (CTD) – Mr. Parshu Ram Dhungyel, Head of Department, and Mr. Tsheten Dorji have successfully completed a 5-day Capacity Building ASIIN Workshop on “International Higher Education Quality Assurance Criteria and Programme Accreditation” at the ASIIN Academy in Düsseldorf, Germany, from 12th to 16th January 2026. They participated alongside 7 other participants – 5 from other Departments of the College of Science and Technology (CST) and 2 from Sherubtse College (SC) under the Royal University of Bhutan (RUB).
The workshop aimed to strengthen institutional capacity in internationalization and global academic quality assurance standards. Currently, CTD/CST is submitting the Self-Assessment Report for the Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology programme for international ASIIN and EUR-ACE® accreditation. If successful, this will mark a major milestone for CTD/CST, and RUB in advancing global recognition of the programme. The second periodic review of the IT programme was conducted in 2022 based on the international standard of IEEE/ACM ‘s IT curriculum guidelines, strengthening its internationalization efforts.
CTD extends its sincere gratitude to the ASIIN Academy (German Quality Assurance Agency) and CST/RUB management for their support in making this capacity-building initiative possible.
